After finding the Chalk app I was absolutely enamored with the concept of a platform based around long-form conversations with strangers. I instantly wanted to be apart of it, but to my dismay the company wasn't hiring.
My biggest complaint with the app was how difficult it was to type fast on the small iPhone keyboard, so I ran the app through a proxy to reverse-engineer the endpoints, whipped up a slim frontend, and presented my working web app to the founders the next week. Two days later I got an offer to come work with them.
The following year was one of rapid growth and learning on my part. Sadly, as all good things do, Chalk came to an end in early 2017, but I am still very proud of my contributions.
